Windoze 7

any project, seti is the main project I run.
Boinc will report exit and shutdown, but computations still running in the background.
there are only so many option that can be selected/deselected under tool and pref's.

strangest problem I've had in over 20yrs of lookin for ET.

Tried reinstall, no joy, Boinc removed for now.

Reinstall BOINC
Open BOINC Manager
View
Advanced view
Options
Other options
Check "Enable Manager exit dialog?
Save

In BOINC Manager
File
Exit BOINC
Check "Stop running tasks when exiting the BOINC Manager"
OK

Like I said, tried reinstall, tried every possible combo of options,
tried the exit dialog and stop running tasks....

Appears to shut down(icon gone) I get the prompt to shut down and to ask every time, but tasks continue to run in the background.

I CAN shut it down manually through task manager.

I shall dig more...
Like all things in life it will be Windows fault.

Well yes, it can happen that tasks continue to run, but this is something you'll have to take up with the project they're from, as then it's their science application not listening to the BOINC shutdown.
