The thing with Folding@home is that there's just ONE project to deal with.

With BOINC, each project would probably have to develop support for running in Chrome.

BOINC is kind of understaffed at the moment so it's unlikely anything like that would occur. If anything, someone might program a Chrome extension to monitor clients and maybe even control them...
