Read About ClimatePrediction.Net and BBC Climate.

They do essentially the same thing, but the BBC version uses a different climate model.

Thanks Ageless,

I already read the project descriptions and thats what prompted this question in the first place.

Looks to me that its two concurent projects.

The BBC Climate Change Experiment has the "climateprediction.net" logo in its web page header logo, see http://bbc.cpdn.org//

Hard to tell which one I want to support.

CPDN released the BBC version with the help from the BBC and the UK Met office.

On the BBC Climate page it specifically says: "An experiment developed for the BBC by climate scientists, led by Oxford University, using the Met Office climate model."

You can see here that they are essentially the same project. The biggest difference between them is that the BBC Climate project comes with its own BOINC version. You do not need to use this version, you can even attach to both projects if you want to. But do know that both run extremely long, so if you want to attach to anything else as well, do know you won't get work for that project in a long time.

Also read CPDN Online support and help.

ok, I will stick to climate prediction for my current computer pool.

Its just that I will soon have a new pool of computers to attach to a project (phase 1 will be about 25 computers).

I want them to work on an environmental project.

I will have to keep on reading to chose which one it will be.

Thanks

For your information:

I posted about the same question on the Climate Prediction message board and got an interesting answer from the forum administrator.

See http://www.climateprediction.net/board/viewtopic.php?p=50456#50456

Cheers!
