I have connected to the SETI@home project with an older (Pentium D 3.4Ghz / 4Gb RAM) and everything seems to run smoothly except when BOINC Manager is processing data. What is happening is the countdown timers and the percentage complete do not update until theya are clicked on. This is a multi processor machine (2 processors) and occasionally when the main processor is running/computing it's package, the countdown timers work normally (sometimes) and I was just wondering if this might be a software issue or if it's something to do with the OS or what - I don't know. I have reached out to several people and no replies. So, I thought I would try here. Any advice or info would be great :-) I am trying to make use of old hardware before retiring it to the great big bit bucket in the sky.

Thanks!

This is a known problem with older BOINC on Debian. You should update to the latest point release and install BOINC from jessie-backports. That version has proper remaining time display.
