Is it possible to hide the BOINC dock icon. Surplus to requirements as I've got the BOINC menubar icon too, and freeing up dock space is always nice.

It is possible to hide the BOINC dock icon while BOINC is active.

I've managed to hide the dock icon while the menu icon remains visible. (I use Mac OS X 10.5.2, but I beleive it could apply to previous persion too!)

To do this all you have to do is edit the Info.plist from the BOINC-package and add the key "LSUIElement" with the string value "1".

To easily accomplish this I myself used the tool "Dock Dodger". After following the instructions provided with this tool (drag and drop), the Dock-icon was gone, freeing space on the dock!

Note: If you want BOINC to auto-start-up, first check the option "Open at login" before you add the LSUIElement-key!
