Not sure it was working before with Norton.

Boinc version 7.6.22 (x64)
wxWidgets 3.0.1

I do not know what has happened. I used to run Boinc when the computer started and used it as my screen saver but for some reason it has stopped transferring data packets.

I don't know if it is Norton antivirus blocking it or if the server is down. This has been going on for a number of days now.

Attached is the Boinc Ctrl+Shift+E lines requested.

Thank you for any help.

Allen

Norton IS the most likely culprit. It will by default BLOCK any "unusual" activity IT thinks might "harm" your computer.

I'm not a Norton user so I do not know exactly how to make it work with BOINC but usually these types of programs have a place to "whitelist" (allow) select program(s) and or web sites access to your computer usually in Firewall Settings or something similar.

Best best is to search the SETI Number Crunching forums or post a message there asking for help,

The first thing to do with this type of problem is go to the project web site and see if there's any relevant information there. Most project web sites have a page where you can check the status of their servers. You should also check the news announcements and forums for any posts about problems.

I'm by no means an expert, but I don't see anything in the log you posted that looks like a firewall problem.

As far as Norton's firewall: I've been using BONC with Norton Internet Security on two computers for four yeas with no problems at all. NIS uses a very large database to automatically set firewall rules for most programs, and it's been many years since I've had to manually edit rules for any program I use.

I just checked a minute ago, and the firewall rules in my NIS for BOINC were set automatically by Norton: they're not rules I edited myself, and they work just fine.

You can see the firewall rules for BONC in Norton Internet Security by gong to "Settings | Firewall | Program Control" and using the search box to find the rules for BOINC. (If you're using some other Norton product, you'll have to find the firewall rules on your own.)
