Hi everyone,
After years of absence, I recently decided I would get back to using BOINC. I reinstalled the stable version (7.6.22) but it failed to connect: when I start BOINC manager, the main window opens and simply reads "data reception ongoing" (loosely translated, since my computer is in Italian). Nothing ever goes any further than that. I later switched to version 7.6.33 with no difference. I tried deactivating my firewall, to no avail. I am currently running macOS Sierra 10.12.1. Has anyone encountered a similar situation?
Thanks in advance,
Drounal

Some people posted about their troubles in different threads, such as:
MacOS Sierra release today
MacOS Sierra not telling BOINC client about idleness

The BOINC developer for the Mac has manage to loan a capable Mac and installed BOINC 7.6.33 on it and he found it had no problems at all.
