I have problems with app_config.xml for the lhc@home 2.0 project[1]. It seems this project is shipping a default app_config.xml with their project,[2] and it keeps overwriting my own app_config.xml. The default config provided by the project is conservative and only suited for smaller desktop/laptop systems with 4-6 GB RAM (my system has 24 GB).

I don't think this behavior of boinc_client is intended. Default settings from the project are a nice feature, but they probably aren't supposed to eleminate user settings entirely.

What if you change the file to Read only?
