I prefer to install as a service so boinc will run regardless of whether or not I am logged into windows. I've reinstalled the software, and Windows itself - still having boinc.exe crash when I start it. My W10 + 7.6 runs fine as service. Do this: 1) Uninstall BOINC, 2) Delete C:\ProgramData\BOINC completely, 3) Get 7.6.33 with latest W10 fixes, 4) Boot, 5) Install 7.6.33 as service and make sure to also tick "Allow all users" in the advanced installer options, 6) Not sure if required, but boot again to make sure the boinc limited rights account is properly set. Thanks for the recommendation - after installing .33 (was trying .22 previously), it actually came up and asked me what project I wanted to connect to. Looks like it's back in gear now! |
