I have windows 10 now and I like my wallpaper, however quite often a black screen comes up to tell me I am supporting a project my total and what is running
this never happened before on my xp. Is there a way to turn this off?

Right-click on a free space on your desktop->Personalize->Screen Saver->Seti it to None or to something other than BOINC->OK.
