hello,

when i log out from boinc, sometimes my pc freezes and then an nvidia driver message that driver was not responding.
Im on win 8.1 64bit with sli gtx970 and i7 2600k processor, my computer is 100% stable as it can run boinc and other apps for as many days as I want, this problem just happens when I log out from boinc.

i'm unable to find out why, I have reinstalled the nvidia driver many times but this wont fix it.

any ideas?

thanks

Boinc doesn't do any computation itself, the project applications do that, Best ask at the project concerned.

What does 'log out from BOINC' mean? Exiting the GUI manager -without- closing the client [continues to run the sciences] or just close the BM window so it stays as icon in the systray? Are project involved that use the GPGPU [your Nvidia]? What BOINC version and how installed [user level or service].

hi,

sorry for the late reply, yes loging out from manager is closing the app and also ending the computing.

I have found that PSS STIEVE subproject from primegrid which was using my gpu was actually the problem, when I changed it to another primegrid gpu subproject all went fine. I can logout and end the computing whenever i want without any freeze.

So pss stieve subproject was the issue, any idea why?

BOINC has nothing to do with the science applications running under it. Any errors or problems you find you have with these science projects is best asked and reported at the project who the science applications are from.
