Cosmology@home is down.

Was on the Cosmology@home site about 5 minutes before it suddenly went down and noticed someone had indicated the DNS & Domain registration had been "hacked"/taken over by nefarious individuals.

Just checked and it appears to be Chinese hackers have pointed the domain name to a Chinese "parked" site supposedly in France.

UNTIL THE RIGHTFUL OWNERS CAN GAIN BACK CONTROL... I WOULD STAY AWAY FROM IT AND SUSPEND ANY BOINC COMMUNICATION WITH THE SITE.

Why do you think that it is Chinese hackers? Cosmology@home did move to France, and Gandi SAS is a French company. Benjamin Wandelt is the founder of Cosmology@home.

I found a workaround for Cosmology@home's DNS outage. Define the domains "www.cosmologyathome.org" and "cosmologyathome.org" as 194.57.221.140 in your local DNS server (for home users, this is likely in your home broadband router) or your hosts file. I used VirusTotal as a poor man's passive DNS, and found the old IP address as 194.57.221.140 for both domains.

Message 85326 - Posted: 20 Mar 2018, 18:53:06 UTC - in response to Message 85300.

The Domain Name hijacking for cosmologyathome.org appears to have been resolved as everything is pointing to the correct location {cosmos.iap.fr [194.57.221.140]} and the correct web page now loads in my web browser.

NOTE: It may take up to 24 hours to fully work its way throughout all the DNS servers across the www.

If after 24 hours you still have problems accessing the correct web site or BOINC can not find the site you probably will need to flush your DNS cache either on your main modem/router or all your computers.

Last week SZTAKI had lost my cookie so I had to re-login. Now it's "Database Error" server_status.php says everything is fine (web pages, upload/download -- "Running"; everything else either "Not Running" or "Disabled"). Watching as it goes through usual slow death %(

p.s. Just registering casuality, no need to worry. As a co-cruncher has put it: "Everybody just left and forgot to turn off lights".

There seems to be a spot of bother at Collatz (News: https://boinc.thesonntags.com/collatz//forum_thread.php?id=1576 that was initially raised in their number crunching forum but is being looked into. Hopefully the bottom of it will be got to soon.

SETI@home is temporarily shut down for maintenance. We're doing a more extensive reorganization than usual to try to resolve some of the database performance problems we've been experiencing. The outage may extend for more than 24 hours.
For you who want to join the conversation, meet at the Seti is down thread.

CPDN is down with database maintenance.

There is an issue with the main database. This unfortunately will take a few days to sort out due to the size of the database. The project has been taken down whilst this work is ongoing, and the project won't be restored until some time next week.

Unscheduled project downtime: a backend issue has come up that needs to be resolved. It will take some days unfortunately to resolve, there is a backup system that will be brought up in-place next week that will enable to the project to be brought back online again. Our apologies for this unscheduled downtime.

Hi All,

The project is now back online. There was a major issue with the server on which the master database resides. We are now running the project from the slave server. Over the coming weeks there will have to be brief periods of scheduled downtime to switch back to using the master database machine.

Best regards,

Andy

From collatz project page:

Use at your own risk
I'm testing the validator, work generator, assimilator, and applications. It may or may not work which means you may or may not get credit for your work. There is still a lot of work to do but I'm making progress

Acoustics@Home seems to be offline this morning, I'm unable to upload finished jobs, and can't see the website.

I have problems connecting to GPUGrid several times a day. They must have router problems. But it seems a bit more serious this time, and I have work stuck in upload.
